The Benefit Company
Each Christmas The Benefit Company collaborates on giving back to the community and those in need globally. This year for their global initiative they chose Samaritan’s Purse.
Samaritan’s Purse is a humanitarian organization that provides aid to people in physical need as a key part of Christian missionary work.
The organization’s president is Franklin Graham, son of Rev. Billy Graham. The name of the organization is based on the New Testament Parable of the Good Samaritan, in which Jesus uses a parable to teach people one form of the Golden Rule; “Love your neighbor as yourself”.
It was a tremendous joy to fill and donate 32 boxes from employees and their families. In addition to toys, other items packed in the boxes included items like pencils, notebooks, picture books, toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, washcloths, T-shirts, socks and hats.
Filling the boxes is only half the fun. Samaritan’s Purse also allows you to track your box on their web site. You can also see what others are doing by following the hashtag #ipackedashoebox on social media.
