A Day of Service

Building an environment to retain today’s workforce involves looking beyond traditional corporate values, metrics, and benefits.  The business of work has changed.

Some say the pandemic made a large impact on employee outlook and how we view the everyday work experience.  Finding happiness in each day became paramount. This caused a mind shift in the way of work. Employees of every workforce generation are looking at balance and community.

Offering your employees paid time off to participate in community service or events have taken lead in many organizations.  These types of events and programs can often be associated with the perks of health-related incentives.  Did you know that the simple joys of volunteering may lower blood pressure?  In addition, participating helps you connect to others.  That connection helps spark ideas and build understanding for a positive outlook. Positive outcomes for physical, mental, and social health are the energy builders for the company.  You receive happy charged employees back into the office sharing gratitude about their organization for such a wonderful opportunity.

Create permission to give during the work week. It helps employees make the time.  This is a priceless benefit and true reward for the company.

This fall is a perfect time to round out your benefits portfolio.  Offer your employees the opportunity to participate in an event of their choice.  You might be surprised how playful interaction builds productivity.

Stay tuned, I will be sharing some of my favorite moments of giving to the community.
